Thoughts on this Ad by the AHF (Aids Healthcare Foundation)

We received this from one of our fans. Not surprised with the AHF’s attempt to grasp onto what is a monetizing attempt to keep their multi-billion dollar foundation strong. With the the end of HIV is now in in sight we want to get your comments and thoughts on this message that has been posted by the AHF.

AHF AD CAMPAIGN

  1. i have 2 couples that both trusted each other, both were lying, and both were not aware they were infected till all began to shows symtoms. this “fear” ad might have prompted them to get tested earlier maybe one of them or 2 or three would not be poz now. two years ago i became aware that i was exposed to hep b, i had the vaccines but probably had them too late. i THOUGHT i played safe my whole life, but somehow i fucked up and i’m now on a med (ironically one that is also used as prep) the rest of my life. i’m terrified of having sex anymore and haven’t had any since my diagnosis just over 2 yrs ago. not everyone can easily brush off chronic diseases as if they were a common cold not only can these fuck you up biologically they also can do a job on a person mentally.

  2. I find this ad very offensive. It’s fear based, and I take it as an attempt to divide the gay community. I am tired of the portrayal of the bottom always being “the victim.” It’s a two way street guys. If you want to bareback there are risks involved. Not everyone having bareback sex is out to infect a guy with HIV. If you can’t handle the risks of barebacking then get off the bus. Sometimes it ends up being Pay to Play.

  3. i made the mistake of trusting someone. i’m now hiv+ . Sadly I didnt get tested and now have passed it to my partner unwillingly. He trusted me as well. the good news is after we were diagnosed and put on meds we are both undetectable.
