Gay black writer known for his critically acclaimed works of sci-fi like Nova (1968) and Stars in My Pocket Like Grains of Sand (1984), as well as his writings on the gay urban experience, such as his memoir Times Square Red, Times Square Blue (1999). He has also published a work of extreme gay porn, Hogg (writ. 1969, pub. 1995).
