Atlanta is the south’s most metropolitan city. Over half its residents arrived from somewhere else. Like the city itself, Hotlanta attracts men from around the south who come here to live free. The gay bars and clubs are a bit spread out, but most cluster around the midtown area.
Manifest 4U – Upscale sex club…whatever that means
Manifest bills itself as a premiere sex club, which if anything suggests a high degree of cleanliness. No complaints here. Also offers yoga classes (including a nude yoga session).
FLEX Spas (Flexbaths) – Show off your flexibility
Calling itself the “peach” of Hotlanta, Flex Baths Atlanta, part of the Flex chain known for clean, high-quality facilities, largely lives up to its own billing. It features newly remodeled rooms and refurbished steam and shower area. There’s a clothing-optional outdoor sun deck, too.
Club Eros Atlanta – Old warehouse becomes playhouse
Appropriately located on Faulkner Road, Eros Atlanta is a sex club, but not a bathhouse since it does not offer rooms for rent or wet areas. It does, however, have bathrooms — and plenty or room for hot sex. Basically, it’s a converted warehouse that features play spaces designed for intimate socializing. Theme rooms and erotic video lounge.
The Den – Members only private non-profit club
The organization exists to support men of color who share the ideals of the swinger lifestyle. The Den was established solely for the purpose of serving as a common meeting ground for like minded people. Membership is required and a completed application must be submitted for consideration.
Fort Troff – Dungeon play space
One of the best equipped play facilities with everything you can possibly think of to have a good time. Location changes and admission is by invitation only, so check their website to apply for membership and learn more about the club.
When most people think of New Orleans, Mardi Gras is the first thing to come to mind. But this city is a fun place to play year-round with its liberal open container law, large and diverse group of bars open 24-hours a day. Most of the venues are clustered in a small area of the French Quarter around St. Ann and Bourbon Street–which makes it easy to barhop and explore all that New Orleans gay life has to offer.
You’ll find all types of people here from the youngest (“are they old enough to be in here?”) to those that have been around forever, from the most serious bears to the twinks on the dance floor of Oz or Parade. Even post-Katrina, most holiday weekends bring in big crowds and Labor Day draws the biggest for Southern Decadence, an all-gay (and mostly male) version of Mardi Gras.
The Club New Orleans – Modest space, immodest activities
Club New Orleans lacks the remodeled, futuristic design and size of its former New Orleans competitor Flex. But what it lacks in glitter, it makes up for in sexy patrons, personable staff, and easy-to-navigate facilities that are both clean and well maintained.
