Mykki Blanco is a performance artist, musician, and writer known for his queer-themed rap EPs and mix-tapes. Blanco who is genderqueer, and HIV+ works as an advocate for the LGBTQ community. Blanco is notable for their public exploration of their gender explaining, “I thought being more ‘passable’ would fix deeper emotional issues I had and that becoming a trans woman would make life ‘easier than being a femme gay man’.”
