Alcohol: Alcohol is produced by fermenting fruits, vegetables or grains. It is found in drinks like beer, lager, wine and cider, and spirits such as whiskey or gin. Alcoholic drinks range in strength and are measured as a percentage (%) per volume. The higher the percentage, the stronger the effect. Alcohol is a psychoactive drug (which means it changes your mood) and a central nervous system depressant, although it stimulates in smaller doses.

Taking Alcohol: The strength of an alcoholic drink is measured either by ‘proof’ or by ABV (alcohol by volume). The proof figure is equal to double the ABV figure, so a drink that’s 40% proof will be 20% ABV. Alcohol is most commonly consumed orally but can be ingested numerous ways including: nasally, vaginally, anally, ocularly, and intravenously. All of which can be extremely dangerous because the alcohol goes directly to your blood stream before being filtered through your liver.
Effects: Alcohol heightens your mood, making you happier or more affectionate if you feel that way already. It can relax you, lower your inhibitions, and make you more sociable and confident. If your mood is low, alcohol can make it lower, and it’s well known for causing aggression. When booze lowers your inhibitions, it can put you at risk of harm and affect your judgment. It also opens up blood vessels in the outer parts of the body, giving that warm feeling inside and a reddened face.
Because it’s a depressant, alcohol slows down your body’s reactions, causing slurred speech, lack of co-ordination, blurred vision, and sleepiness or passing out. Other unwelcome effects are throwing up and dehydration — not having enough water in the body is the main cause of hangovers. Higher doses cause blackouts where you can’t remember what happened, and very high doses can lead to alcohol poisoning, which can kill.
Sex and Alcohol: Alcohol lowers inhibitions and can make you feel more in the mood for sex. It can give people confidence socially and sexually, and can make them less uptight and more affectionate or sexually assertive or experimental. The numbing effect of alcohol on the genitals can make reaching an orgasm more difficult. But a little booze can relax men so that they don’t come too early if they suffer from premature ejaculation. Drink can cause erection problems (brewer’s droop, whiskey dick). It reduces the effectiveness of Viagra-type drugs. Long-term heavy drinkers can suffer loss of sex drive and ongoing erection problems.

Elias: Personally, I think sex is best when you’re drunk ONLY when you’re having it with someone you’re not really all that into. “Beer goggles” come out when 1 or both people are drunk. Everything is bound to feel “great” if you’re completely wasted! All standards & expectations go out of the door! Plus, people can bring out their hidden animal/aggression when they’re drunk. And aggressive sex is always awesome! I think sober sex is the best when it’s had with someone you already care for AND when it’s had with someone who’s already what you’d consider “good” in the bedroom.
Gabriel: I’m not into drunk sex at all; I like to remember what I did when I wake up in the morning. And when I’m drunk I tend to fall asleep on the guy, which they don’t seem too impressed with. To me sober sex is always the best sex, maybe a glass of wine to feel more relaxed if it’s someone new, but then again if you do not feel comfortable enough to sleep with the person sober, then in my opinion you shouldn’t really be doing it.
